No regular Club meeting at the Garden City Hotel due to the 2015 Long Island's Champions for Families Reception that will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Westbury Manor, 1100 Jericho Turnpike, Westbury, New York. 
 
Present Emily encourages all members to attend the Fund Raiser Reception which will benefit our RotaCare program.  Please see our Rotary Club of Mineola-Garden City new website (www.rcmgc.org or www.RotaryClubMineola-GardenCity.org) for further details.  Please notice when you type the long version of the website address "of" (between "Rotary Club" and "Mineola-Garden City" is not included and the "-" is included.  The use of the short version of the address containing the first letters of every word of the name of our Club is recommended.

REPORT OF THE OCTOBER  26th MEETING
Rotarian Althea submitted the following report:
 
This past October 26, Rotary welcomed Lonnie Sherman, president and founder  of  “General Needs  and the Boots Across Long Island”  project whose mission is to provide NEW clothing, toiletries, coats and seasonal items for homeless veterans on Long Island through charitable donations.  Under the umbrella of the 501(c)(3 )Organization, Boots Across Long Island seeks to provides boots for  homeless veterans in need (5,000 throughout Long Island).  Lonnie Sherman explained that these boots help to facilitate employment  for snow removal during winter months as well as  yard work during milder weather.  For more information, please visit generalneeds.org.  To donate items or make financial donations, call Lonnie Sherman at 516-672-9595 or email lonniesherman@general-needs.com.
